Members of the university community are encouraged to be mindful of their environment and activities that pose possible safety risks. Due to the unique placement of the Coastal Science Campus and proximity to undeveloped land, adjacent ocean, coastal bluffs and wild life habitats, safety considerations are very diverse. Consistent with good safety practice anywhere, staff and guests should be vigilant in all activities that may be unsafe. Whether working, attending an event or enjoying the wonderful environment, be alert to hazards, be cautious during activities that may pose risks, utilize resources that are available for support, and have a personal safety plan.

Everyone contributes to the safety of others; be an advocate for yourself and be an advocate for your community.   Be prepared and always report safety issues when you see them.
